Seven years ago this beautiful 7,500 square foot home experienced
foundation failure of the left front corner.
Segmented piles were installed as a fix. The 2-story, brick veneer home in Covington,
Louisiana, is located 200 feet from the Tchfunete River in a subdivision with a
history of unstable soil. A large crack appeared in the brick veneer and the interior
floor had dropped.
Herb Sanders Engineering of Madisonville, Louisiana, was called in to evaluate the
situation and design a permanent fix. It was obvious that the original system had
failed to support the estimated 1,000 pounds per linear foot load.
It was decided that the FASTEEL® Helical System
and ULTrA Brackets would be the best way to support and lift the foundation. Clesi
Foundation Repair had worked with Sanders engineering before and was called upon
to remedy a situation, which involved the failure of segmented piles.
